Let’s face it, half the fun of going to the Hamptons is the unparalleled people-watching, and at no East End restaurant can you indulge in this guilty pleasure quite like at Nick & Toni’s. For 20 years, the glitterati have flocked to this Italian restaurant that actually serves good food and has an impressive wine list. Mediterranean cuisine is cooked in a partially-open kitchen with an exposed wood oven overlooking three dining rooms and a small bar. The décor is rustic but plain, with art by local artists adorning the walls, and there’s also a memorial collage in honor of Jeff Salaway, the co-owner who died in a car accident a few years ago. Reservations are hard to come by and prices are fairly steep, so plan ahead.
