North Square @ the Washington Square Hotel:
On the northwest corner of Washington Square Park, underneath the Washington Square Hotel and defiantly facing its press-adorned neighbor (Babbo), sits a smug restaurant. Hiding in the back of this restaurant is a lounge which boasts Manhattan’s best apple martini. Grad students, NYU professors, and neighborhood locals enjoy the refined environment as they sit beneath frosted glass, admire Klimt-inspired artwork, and soak in the soft jazz. North Square attempts to balance the coveted young/hip vibe with refined maturity. Try the oddly paired oyster and apple martini special, and search the crowd for dashing Harrison Ford types.
Had a great experience....Joey was my server...I will be back....

this lounge has a great drink menu, the bartender makes a great pisco sour, which is so hard to find and the paloma is yummy too! I've come here with my girlfriends after work or before going out and we've always had a good time. its a casual atmosphere in a hyper college-y area which we want to avoid. ive also heard from other people at the bar here that the food is awesome. i want to go back for it. also because the lounge is part of a hotel the customers are usually international or from out of town so its not the same boring crowd you see everywhere else! and it has a good vibe and friendly service!
