Oliver's Bar and Grill:
Tacky planes, trains, and jets seem to be the theme that graces the logo of Oliver's Bar and Grill in the West Village. Your best bet, however, is taking the subway to the West 4th stop between 4pm and 7pm for their drunk-on-Bleecker-before-dark (again) 2-for-1 happy hour. The arched brick ceiling and red and white checked tablecloths seem reminiscent of…wait…what’s that? Oh, right. It’s Boxers with a new owner. The Tavern Tea and comfort food (mac and cheese or home-made chili) reinforce the somewhat stolen atmosphere. If you’re looking for a good deal for brunch in the West Village, Oliver’s is pretty decent. For $13.95 you get a wide-ranging menu, a roomy space, and the sadness of knowing that little pooch will never return.
Really friendly, good food. Barmaids Kimmy, Bella and yana really looked after me. Sit at the bar and have a chat with the locals. Good people.

We used to go to this place when it was Boxer's. It is even better now! Carrie the bartender is there on Friday nights with this funky Austrailian guy I think his name is Adam. ANyways, she is super cool and a ton of fun to talk to. Super sassy! C-Dawg appreciates your coolness.

I had visited Boxer's before and thought they had the rudest staff. We had passed by one night and saw that it was no longer Boxers but Olivers. We tried it out and I have to say that it was nothing compared to the old. Much better service! The food was good and they had a great selection of beers. Kudos to the new place.

I was there on a Friday night and I have to say that the manager lacks the respect and professionalism people like my friends and I expect. The server was a big turn off since she was probably eating in the back because she was still chewing when she was walking towards our table. The guy behind the bar had the meanest face on and was having shots with patrons while our server waited around. And then to top it off the manager who distracted my server from attending to our needs. He seemed to be more concerned with playing with the servers than taking care of us, it even seemed like he was sexually harassing his employees in front of us, but then again the server seemed happy to neglect our table and instead laugh and play around. I was very disgusted and will probably never come back.

I understand Boxers been around a long time, but, the service here has been much better. Same place, better service!

Goodbye Boxers, hello classic 4th street fodder. Bummer.
