Pachanga Patterson:
Think you have to go to Brooklyn to be served a complicated cocktail with intentional disinterest? Au contraire. Hipsters have made their way to Astoria, and they're crowding both sides of the bar at tiny Mexican joint Pachanga Patterson. It's decked out in death décor of the celebratory variety—perhaps congratulating you on finally scoring a table? The small plates might be your best bet for using your space sparingly—both on the itty-bitty tables and in your belly—so try the salsa sampler (3 for $9) or the stuffed chilies ($3 each). Then fill up with a few of their signature hibiscus margaritas and mezcal cocktails ($10); they’re freakishly easy to knock back, so prepare yourself for when tomorrow feels like your own personal dia de los muertos.
