Pacifico: A little bit of salsa smacked down in the middle of upscale, foodie Smith Street, Pacifico has quickly become the go-to spot for the youth of Cobble Hill craving hair-of-the dog. After all, where else can you find Latina-style morning-after comfort food on a front deck just begging for dark sunglasses and cigarettes? If the thought of a Burrito Grande ($8.50) makes your delicate stomach turn, feel free to order up a pitcher ($32, happy hour, $23) of their signature drinks (flavored margaritas, red and white sangria) and lay back on one of the expansive benches. A couple of long picnic-style tables up front—reserved for the drinks-only crew—will fill up quickly, so be prepared to swap last night’s story with the suffering masses. If all that sunlight is just too much, head indoors to the cool and kitschy dining room, where you can dine at a table or pull yourself right up to the bar. The margs are deceptively strong, so after a few your pain will be a distant memory—and you’ll be well on your way to making new ones. Which is just fine, because Pacifico’s open for dinner, and your next late night. |
