Paramount Bar: Though the space is small, Paramount Bar in the Paramount Hotel is big on glam. Equipped with crystal chandeliers, golden shades around hanging lights, mirrored cocktail tables and over-sized black-and-white photos, the décor speaks to an era when couples donned fancier apparel than hoodies to the theaters down the street. Times may have changed, but the crowds at Paramount Bar still dress to impress to sip the signature cocktail (Grey Goose Pear Vodka, St. Germain, lime and muddled ginger) and chat over the eclectic beats spun by the rotating crew of female DJs. Those wanting a break from teetering on stilettos may lounge on red velvet banquettes while drinking the Red Velvet cocktail (Hendricks Gin, sugar, lemon and muddled blackberries), and anyone crazy for love may knock back a libation of the same name (Tanteo Jalapeno Tequila, lime and agave nectar) before chatting up the cutie by the bar. At $14 a pop, the drinks are not cheap, but dahling, glamour never was.
