From long-time business bros Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone (of prix-fixe dinner fame at adjacent Torrisi Italian Specialties) comes a “more relaxed” sandwich bar: Parm. Currently open only for lunch, Parm presents a menu that’s pretty similar to that at Torrisi (and is, in fact, meant to replace it as Torrisi makes way for a more formal lunchtime operation). Unlike its predecessor, Parm serves a full bar with sandwiches and platters a la carte. The $12 Frozen Scorpino (bar secret—vodka involved, $12) gives Parm an edge against NoLita legend Parisi Bakery, where the queue sometimes quadruples the length of its block. Decked out with trendy-quaint decor, Parm’s front red barstools will most definitely attract prime cuties from this hip ‘hood. If you’re already taken, get cozy with your steady in the backroom—especially after Parm’s hours are extended past other joints’ curfews.
