Pho 32 & Shabu has a new home in the East Village. Adding to the plethora of Japanese and Vietnamese restaurants along St. Marks Place, this one offers a casual, yet trendy atmosphere. Sadly for us, there isn’t a separate bar. A few wine selections, American and Japanese beers, and So Ju will suffice, if you’re really craving the cuisine. Their menu consists of staple options like Pho bowls, Shabu selections, vegetarian specials and appetizers. The prices are very affordable; Pho bowls and Shabu range in price from $8 to $19. Our only complaint is the very noticeable, fishy aroma. If you can’t stomach the sea, walk the block to find a different Japanese joint.
