Yeah, that's an unappetizing name, but that's it for the bad news. Now the good: this is the kind of joint where people slump and make that Homer Simpson 'Aaaauuuuggggh' sound to describe the deliciousness of the cuisine. Hey, we did it and we admit it (and why is it always southern food that elicits this response?). Though it has moved from its previous ramshackle (but awesome) location behind the Rock Star Bar, all of the usual suspects are here: mouth-watering chicken and biscuits, smoky black-eyed peas, pork and collard greens, made with fresh ingredients and a loving hand. Plus, with more room comes some great additions, like inexpensive breakfast choices, an ever-changing taco list and burgers from local butchers at The Meat Hook. We can't think of better nourishment to accompany a craft draft or bottle of brew on a Brooklyn afternoon (their small rotating selection often includes beloved Avery beers from Colorado) or—for those authentic types—an ice cold Budweiser chased with a smooth Coors Light.
