Pipa:
ABC Carpet had a great piece of New York real estate and turned it into something of a shopping, dining, and nighttime one-stop shop. Pipa fills the role of date spot as well as welcoming tired shoppers, lively groups, and slightly desperate singles. The bewitching effect of the multitude of chandeliers hanging above is offset with the tongue-and-cheek price tags that dangle from them; you’ve got to appreciate the business savvy behind ABC merch as décor. Distressed mirrors complete the romantic side, and a large island-like table of bark-covered wood nourishes the jovial “gathering of friends” component. Try one of the $12 flavored mojitos like pineapple coconut and coconut pear, or stop by for a sangria-filled weekend brunch in one of the pastel-colored chairs outside.
Pipa's tapas are both delicious and authentic (read: hard to pronounce). The calamari is fabulous, the crystal chandeliers are far-out and the mojitos are tall, cold, and minty-fresh. Though bustling, this spot is romantic- if you don't bring a date, you might wish you had.

This is a very charming wine bar that is perfect for a casual, yet classy date or to go out with a few of your girl friends for a glass of wine and some tapas in a beautiful, warm space. It is very 'anthropologie-esque'.
