Perfect for multi-taskers, PizzArte is an authentic old-Napoli-style pizzeria that doubles as a two-story gallery featuring artists from the Naples and Campania regions. Far too hip for Midtown, PizzArte boasts a wood-burning oven imported from the boot, as well as award-winning pies. This ain’t your typical Ray’s (no high-school drop-outs frisbeeing ‘za into the oven here!), nor is it a California Pizza Kitchen franchise piling the dough high with oddball ingredients. At PizzArte, the pies are artfully simple: from the classic Margherita ($15) to the fried-then-baked Montanara ($16) to the house-signature PizzArte topped with zucchini blossoms ($21). The selection of stuzzicherie (small plates $9-13), salads ($9-14) and pasta ($12-20) fill out the menu, as does a fairly standard bar which is nothing to write home to the motherland about. As Dean Martin promised, when the art hits your eye like a big-a pizza pie, that’ll be amore!
