Polar Lounge @ The Hotel Marcel
Though the name suggests a trip to Earth's frozen regions, the truth behind the new bar beneath the Marcel Hotel is the Polar opposite: This is one hot crowd. You might have a bear of a time squeezing in, but once you do, you'll find a group that's young, pretty, and well-heeled, sipping casually amidst décor straight out of American Psycho (think eighties opulent with lots of shiny mirrors, black-and-white patterns and silver-brushed brick...minus the bloodstains). Bottle-service backlash has been noted: Instead of $400 vodka with mixers, those who reserve a private “Polar Cave” in the back can opt for $85 pitchers of house cocktails. Though some selections (including the delicious Gimlet, $12) are exactly what you'd expect, most of the libations have an arctic theme of ships, expeditions and geographic features. But if you make your own trek here, don't bother with the ice pick, because you won’t have to explore too far out of your comfort zone—patrons are not super pretentious and there’s no meatpacking, Vegas-esque feel. The spot is just, aptly, cool.

go to marquee

I went and they told me the only way I could get in is if I bought a 350 dollar bottle I am female, had money to spend and I was looking fly. But apparently because I was not on someone's guest list or I wasn;t buying a bottle I couldn't get it.. So I went over to Marquee(the hottest club in NYC) and had a blast.. The bouncers picked me and my girlfriends out of the line...moral of the story Go the Marquee, Nice upscale crowd and the music the GREAT...NO POLAR..
