Pop Burger (Midtown):
Pop Burger Midtown is poppin’. The three-story restaurant, bar, and lounge is huge in comparison to its Chelsea sister, but it still maintains the too-cool-for-school vibe. Order the signature Pop Burger from the walk-up counter and eat underneath Andy Warhol soup can paintings, or upgrade to the red-cushioned banquettes upstairs, where the menu expands to include lobster rolls and baby lamb chops. Cocktails like the Pink Panty Pulldown could be stiffer for the $15 price tag, but then again, this place clings to the club aesthetic. The graffiti documentary Wild Style is projected on the wall, there’s a pool table on the top floor, and dance and rock music like Cat Power blasts in the background. A daytime crowd made up of Fifth Avenue shoppers and suits might not know who Cat Power is, but New Yorkers willing to mix with late-night tourists will probably find this place a fast food heaven.
