Pranna:
Meaning "life force" in Sanskrit, Pranna injects a dose of youthful energy (think Tao) into Madison Square Park. Indian-born chef Chai Trivedi (Sapa) offers Pan-Asian cuisine representing Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and India, in this sprawling, multi-level space. Look for an exotic cocktail menu designed by Contemporary Cocktails to pair with the spicy food.
I went to Pranna to celebrate a birthday, and we had bottle reservations all the whole nine yards. I couldn't understand why I was told by a bouncer I had to wait in line, as he let all his friends in on the other side of the rope. I waited online for about 30 minutes until we made a fit to speak with a manager. Finally getting in, the crowd is one to be missed! The music, if you like to hear songs that are played continuously on the radio, you will love the DJ. I would never visit this establishmet again, even if it is in celebration of a birthday!

Food sucked at Pranna as we were there for a party. Went back again on saturday as we were invited again by another friend for her birthday get together.......... Guess what........they take ppl in with frisking them and without charging a fee, cause they make up the money of beer's for $10 and cocktails between &12-15. Place has no security, and when someone tried to mess with my wife the bouncer tell us to leave and let those ppl in even though everyone in our party saw what happened. I wish I knew someone at the NY Times or Newsday to expose this shit.

Food is ok, very small though. People at the bar seem to think they are gods greatest gift, cocktails have way to much detail and take for ever to get. Space looks like a club, with lots of lounge seats and a bar on three floors. Would not waste my time going back, New York has a lot more to give then this place.

I've been in New York my entire life and I rarely encounter a space like Pranna that have all four attributes of a great restaurant - great cocktails (the same mixologists from the legendary bars PDT, little branch, milk&honey), great decor (Wid Chapman and his team hit another success), great staff (such friendly hosts) and most of all GREAT cuisine; Trivedi does wonders with spices.
My company has already booked a dozen meetings in their massive space.

We went to Pranna tonight and had a great time. The place is very comfortable for couples and also big groups. The dining room is really romantic. We ordered from the Sate menu. The food was absolutely delicious. The Lamb sliders were out of this world. I am going back on Saturday with my parents for dinner.

I went to Pranna last night with my girlfriens. We were eight of us. We were amazed to see the size of the place and how beautiful the decor was. We sat in the Sate lounge and ordered some Sate's and small plates. The food had a little kick to it. It was really good. The Dragonfly cocktail was delicious. Must go.

Went last night for their first night and this place is gorgeous! Spacious, comfortable and elegant. My guest and I walked in just to look around but after taking a look at the menu we decided to stay and what a great decision that was! We ordered several small items to share and each one was flavorful, unique and delicious! The service was friendly, efficiant and informative. I will definatly be back here!

Pranna seemd to have a lot of potential... but unfortunately, it falls short. Instead of spending time creating food with taste, they've wasted their money on the insanely uneven decor and annoying music. If you want good food, just go to the McDonalds instead... at least they have toys.
