Print: Even if you've wandered in the west side no man's land of car dealerships and burnt-out, mutant two-story buildings, all is not lost. Instead of leasing a Honda for entertainment, swing by Print Lounge and Restaurant, the lobby of the ink48 hotel. Defying the clunky, cinder block vibe of its environs, Print makes its mark with super-mod decor, comfy cushions galore and a sleek front bar that will make you forget about custom leasing options. Newsroom-themed drinks go from clever to cutesy, but all are worthy of headlines. For starters, pick up the Early Edition, (Hennessy VSOP, Benedictine, Cointreau and lemon, $16), or make some quick edits to a White Out (Tanqueray Ten, Cointreau, lemon and tarragon, $14). Also, the Scotch Tape? It's made with Talisker, so you know it'll fix anything. Alas, the newsie theme doesn't really extend to the menu, which consists primarily of upscale American offerings. Note: You theme-drinkers might want to be on the lookout for Press, a a new "edition" to the hotel's rooftop this March. |
