qoo Robata Bar:
Qoo Robata bar is a lot like that one "cool" Japanese restaurant that you can find in every suburban strip mall. Here, it might be one of the only places around where you can see middle-aged people (the real kind, not pierced Park Slope sling moms). But plopped down in Williamsburg, qoo is just a bad dose of irony, even for a neighborhood that usually likes that sort of thing. The sushi is definitely good, and the sake selection from the $13 Nigori to the $60 Hakkaisan Ginjo is worthy of a table-pounding—even the shiso flavored mojito adds a unique twist to the "bar" part. Yet these little pros won't outweigh the cons of a ho-hum atmosphere and a harried staff, especially when you probably have a dozen menus that'll deliver you the same hand rolls for half the wait. Open Sun.-Thu. 6pm-12am, Fri.-Sat. 6pm-2am.
