Rabbithole Restaurant:
Hop down this Rabbithole-in-the-wall to be transported to America’s yesteryear: a time when delicious food and a heavily-planted backyard drew the friendly neighborhood folks together. Sure, Rabbithole's décor is tired (consisting of salvaged-this and re-appropriated-that like every other New-American joint in town—yawn, already!), but the middle-American paraphernalia somehow seems less trite when paired with the resto's truly simple menu and affable, unpretentious staff. Open from 9am to midnight-ish daily, they offer everything from Stumptown coffee and homemade pasteries ($2), to lamb burgers served on house-made bread ($13) and artisan cocktails ($10-$12), depending on the time of day. Those looking for an unadulterated garden where they can snag some nibbles and sips needn't look further than the lush back patio, which is covered in ivy and potted greenery, just waiting for Peter Rabbits to sneak in and indulge.
