Raines Law Room: If you're not tired of speakeasies yet, ring the doorbell at this subterranean lounge, named after a law that used to prohibit liquor sales on Sundays. If they let you in (that's an if, and they don't take reservations), you'll receive your own plush, curtained-off booth equipped with a chain buzzer for summoning waitstaff (is it us or is the recession breeding more and more bourgeouis accoutrements?) Classic cocktails, courtesy of Milk & Honey's Michael McIlroy, are made in the kitchen-like bar (yet another gimmick: the bar isn't a bar). Ingredients are fresh, and everything from the classic Manhattan to the Gold Rush, made with bourbon, lemon, and honey, is delicious. The jazz, dim lighting and Victorian decor further help set that sex-ay mood, and there's a summertime patio to boot. There you have it: straight-up speakeasy sexiness, if you're into that kind of thing. Open Mon-Thu 5pm-2am, Fri-Sat 5pm-3am, Sun 7pm-1am.
