RdV East:
The largest, and arguably swankiest, of the hip nightclubs in the Hamptons is now going by RdV. East (formerly known as Tavern and more recently as La Playa). The name may have changed, but the scene is pretty much the same MPD-centric atmosphere as before—little surprise given that the spot went from being manned by the folks behind Pink Elephant to the ones behind Bagatelle, Kiss & Fly, and of course, RdV. Don’t let the relatively expansive indoor/outdoor venue fool you however, unless you’re Paris, Lindsay or Estelle, you’re pretty much guaranteed a wait at the door. We suggest sucking it up (and plugging your ears to the gaggles of Manhattan princesses and the men who impress them via over-priced bottles of Grey Goose), because once inside, the thumping beats, long bar and table dancing make it all worth-while…if you’re into that sort of thing that is….
