Roebling Inn:
It's no secret that more people are familiar with the Brooklyn Bridge than with the man (Roebling) who built it. And at first blush, it seems that Roebling Inn might be destined to live in Brooklyn Inn's shadow. However, if the coziness of the candlelit wooden tables, mixed with the rich smell of mahogany and sausages doesn't bridge the gap in popularity, nothing will. A pleasantly low-key place, the sixteen tap beers (yep, more Sixpoint!) along with regional wines (specials are $5) are enough to satisfy any genteel drinker for the night. While its identity may seem confused—think modern speakeasy-vibe with offerings of brats and a lone swirling soft pretzel—the intimacy of the joint is perfect for escaping the pandemonium of a Saturday night in NY. Besides, if something had to replace the late, great Magnetic Field, we're glad this is it.
Couldn't agree more with Shecky's review. Really a comfortable place with a great alcohol and pub food menu. The way the space is configured their are different spots-so there is a place for singles, couples, groups and no one gets into each others way. Friendly bartenders as well. really nice vibe here.
