Roman's: Friends, Romans and countrymen...yet another Brooklyn eatery awaits you! Opened by the friends behind Williamsburg titans Diner and Marlow & Sons, Roman's takes over the Ft. Greene space occupied by their failed Mexican joint, Bonita, and presents the cuisine of a new group of countrymen (Italian-American). Straying little from the decor of its previous tenant, Roman's white-tiled walls and rustic floors set a suitable scene for the neighborhood's low-key creative types and "locavores." Fans of Diner's simplicity will appreciate the daily, handwritten small plates menu on taped sheets of graph paper (think "Eggplant, $8"). As for the drinks, your choice of a rotating "sour" or "bitter" cocktail special (drinks, $10) complements your meal of basic servings of meat and seasonal vegetable sides.
