Room 63:
A reflection of its home turf, Bushwick's Room 63 straddles the neighborhood as it once was, and as it will be. Attempting to cater to the burgeoning (and binge-drinking) hipster populace, Room 63 attracts artsy patrons by showcasing young talent (the current exhibit portrays Peanuts characters on anti-depressants). Yet somehow it cannot escape the casual cantina vibe that feels most at-home in the 'hood. Is it because the homemade chips and salsa served up gratis to patrons are authentically delicious? Identity crisis aside, the no-frills joint could become a staple in the relatively bar-barren area thanks to the chill bartenders, surprisingly wide selection of wines and cocktails, and an eclectic array of live music nights. Rocking out to reggae on Mondays sound like a bit much? Retreat to the serene glow of a gorgeous backyard, sitting in stark contrast to the industrial grunge of a nabe still getting used to its dichotomous existence.
a chill haven far away from the typical Williamsburg spots that simple try to hard to be it. room 63 is a chill spot with cheap drinks art on the wall and an accommodating staff. i'm a huge fan of not dealing with attitude when paying for the drink. unfortunately that's the norm in williamsburg but not in room 63.they even have a huge outdoor area!
