For those short on green, you’re better off staying at home with a cup of store bought Earl Grey and a bowl of granola. But for the Platinum Hybrid set, you might want to take refuge at Sanctuary T. With its candlelit tables and earthy décor, Sanctuary T offers a variety of teas along with dinner and dessert choices (salmon cooked in strawberry pepper tea or jasmine tea cheesecake with Moroccan mint whipped cream). With a great wait staff and a fastidious bartender, this spot is the perfect place to go when you find yourself with the familiar dilemma of where to take your hip aunt or a hippie date who gave up the commune life to manage a Hedge Fund. The drink menu is in the $12-16 range and their specialty cocktail has a tea infused kick, sort of a holistic Red Bull and vodka that fits well with the “boho” sounds of techno music playing in the background. Trippy...and so is the thought that Sanctuary T is like a combination of Leo DiCaprio ten years ago and today.
Me and my girlfriend walked in after shopping in Soho and fell in love with the place. The decor is so chic and cozy. The music was at a perfect volume (I hate places that are so loud, it's hard to have a conversation) so ambience was perfect after a long day of spending. I didn't want to drink but I had to try their cocktails with tea! I figured the tea made it okay. The drinks were fantastic! I had a green tea margarita which was the perfect relaxant for my prix fix meal to come. I had a creme of mushroom soup, and the absolutely fabulous fabulous salmon dish mentioned above. I wanted a tea to help me digest and since I had the prix fix which includes a complimentary dessert (had the nutella crepe... simply put... orgasmic) and tea the server recommended the ginger root tea. It tasted great and I felt good at the end of the meal not bogged down. I'm definitely going back and trying out all the other tea and tea cocktails!
