Sauce:
Family-style plates of ragu may have you day-dreaming of the Italian grandmother you never had, and Frank Prisinzano’s fourth restaurant, Sauce, won’t even harass you about settling down and “getting married already.” Instead, you’ll grab a chair under the cutlery-adorned chandeliers and order yourself a drink, like the Six Points Beer developed especially for Sauce ($5). Watch a butcher do his thing behind a glass wall or peek into the open kitchen to peep entrees simmering in vats of red sauce, then peruse the menu to find the ones that look best (hint: meatballs are key!). The vibe is classic Little Italy (complete with lace curtains and tiled floors), complemented by rustic Italian fare like the Bolognese with Parpardella ($8), grass-fed meatballs and sausages ($4 each). Like all new hotspots, Sauce is suffering through growing pains of overcrowding and kitchen mishaps, but mark our words: once the kinks are ironed out, this cash-only butcher shop and restaurant will become your carnivorous go-to.
