Sky Terrace @ The Hudson Hotel: The Sky Terrace is one of those mysterious hotel bars that's written about in People magazine, but you’re not convinced it really exists. That’s because unless you're a hotel guest, a New York “influencer” or privy to one of their special keycards, you’ve never been there. Of course, you’ll be kindly reminded that their downstairs “Private Park” is open to the public year-round. Sure, a sprawling courtyard garden with decorative chaise lounges isn’t exactly “sloppy seconds,” but there’s something to be said for sunset views of the Hudson. If you manage to social climb your way up to the fifteenth floor, expect a deck divided into cozy nooks featuring a variety of classic patio furnishings including a hammock (which may or may not be occupied by two supermodels making less than super decisions). The crowd is about as attractive as the view, and with no music to drown them out, it’s one giant schmooze-fest (pack those business cards!). And for those of you plebeians still lingering at Private Park, don’t worry, you can still sip the same $16 Cucumber Collins as the elite New Yorkers above! Now that's what we call equal opportunity. |
