So noticed the team behind SNAP, a Meatpacking District sports bar that keeps traditional sports-bar basics—huge flatscreens, messy wings—but snazzes it up to suit the upscale neighborhood. An ode to sporting glory days of yore, vintage Ivy-League wallpaper replaces typical memorabilia mish-mash, early 20th century black-and-white amateur team photos line the walls, and banquettes are covered in recycled pigskin. Post-home team victory, there’s no need to head elsewhere to celebrate in style—a DJ will be spinning post-game dance sets, with an occasional karaoke event for good measure. Twelve drafts, twenty-plus bottles and a menu of hokey-named cocktails will encourage (mostly) friendly rivalries, while an upscale pub menu should keep you upright. Just come prepared…even the basic cheeseburger will cost you some major cheddar. Oh, snap.
