South's:
It’s a small world after all, and not just because Irishman John Griffin, Texan Roger Herr, and a chef from Jamaica all wound up at South’s. All three polar-opposite ethnicities are reflected in South’s eclectic (but damn tasty) menu: Fried chicken, crispy catfish, and, of course, shepherd’s pie all vie for the title of “Best with Beer.” The prices are shockingly un-cityfied and the personalities extend further than the food. (South’s is known for its warm, hospitable staff.) Between the Irish drinking, Texan hospitality, and Jamaican relaxation, a night at South’s is more fun than a bucket full of puppies.
My friends and I stumbled on this bar and we have never left. The bartenders are awesome, specials are to die for and they have my great drinks! The atmosphere is so cozy but with the neighborhood you always meet great people. I love it, its my favorite NYC bar!
