Stir:
When you spend some time at Stir, you’re likely to forget that you’re on the Upper East Side. This diamond in the rough packs ’em in like few other spots uptown, and for good reason. With 21 specialty martinis, Stir’s drink menu rivals downtown’s trendiest clubs and lounges for the best selection on the island. Women come on Thursday for Ladies’ Night, when cosmos are $5 and wine is half-priced, and doctors come in droves for Hospital-ity Tuesdays: Patrons with med school or hospital IDs get 25% off bar tabs $20 and higher. Got a date? Stir offers a $50 prix fixe date deal on Wednesdays and Thursdays. With bottle service, a reputable tapas menu, and legit DJs, Stir isn’t some uptown poseur—it’s the real deal.
The most beautiful girls hanging out here on Saturday nights! Diverse and classy, but who loved to have fun and mingle. CLEAN place and great selections. Martini selection was a huge hit with all the women. Definitly would suggest this spot as an alternative to anyone who doesn't want a fake atmospehere and boring people who are trying too hard to be rockstars.

Great Staff! Good food!! Great Night!!!
I just moved to the UES a few weeks ago and wanted to wander around the neighborhood and stumbled into Stir. I was expecting the usual sports bar / bbq joint, since that seems to be on every block around here, but was pleasantly surprised when the bartender made me a delicious cocktail.
The place was classy, but with a friendly vibe, and most important IT WAS CLEAN! The food was good (I ordered Buffalo Chicken Pops and the guac and chips).
The staff was super friendly.
I plan to come back with my friends on the weekend. I was told Saturday nights are the best...

I had my 28th Birthday party here and it was everything and more. I called for a table and bought 2 bottles of vodka. The girl I spoke to threw in a free bottle of champagne. We got there around 10pm and the table had a "reserved" sign, which was a nice touch. The DJ started around the same time and was pretty good music. I would have liked a little more mix of rock in the rotation, but was a great night. My friends and I drank till they had to throw us out around 4am. Def plan on coming back, maybe even a repeate Birthday Party next year!

Awful everything! This place is not cool no matter how hard they try. Awful service, awful atmosphere and awfully tacky. Go elsewhere!

Just returned home from this lounge and figured it best to share while the experience was fresh. While our waitress was adequate, there’s little else that to recommend about this tacky little place. The décor was closer to what you’d expect at the local dive bar but without the pool table. You’d think that at least some of the drink price would go towards comfortable seats or a decent DJ, rather than 4 LCD TVs tuned to the Colts/Chargers game and a “DJ” little better than Z100 but without the selection. On top of that, the first three things we ordered from the menu weren’t available.
There were less than 20 people there on a Saturday night after midnight in New York.
This place is definitely struggling and management doesn’t seem all that motivated to stay in business. Given the abundance of alternatives in the area, this was a definite first time/last time visit.

This place was great, it was like being downtown on the upper east side. Good drinks, good music, and a pretty descent crowd.
