Stuzzicheria:
Nightlife in Northeastern Tribeca can leave many well-heeled residents scratching their heads. Beer-heavy sports bars hunker down unabashedly next to overpriced mega-lounges and sadly, the search for a consistent, neighborhood-friendly wine bar is exhausting. Say “cin cin” to the opening of Stuzzicheria, the new sister wine bar/restaurant to the wildly popular Bar Stuzzichini. The simple design can almost be described as bare (or what overpriced designers now call “rustic”). Exposed wood beams, marble checkered floors and floor-to-ceiling windows suggest an intimate (translation: tiny) unpretentious date spot-ideal for ogling shoppers on the hunt for Dolce & Gabbana knockoffs on nearby Canal. Couples on dates, longtime locals and pairs of girlfriends perch at three high tables near the entrance or alternately hover under edison bulbs sipping Aperol spritzes ($11) at the weathered bar. All of the wines come from Southern Italy and prices are fair, but the penny-conscious should swing by during happy hour where any large draft beer or cocktail purchase comes with a gratis order of stuzzichini. Just make sure to keep that fake Dolce & Gabanna under wraps—in a spot this authentic, you’re sure to get little amore.
