Sycamore:
Ditmas Park, better known for Victorian homes than dining destinations, evolved when co-owners Gary and Allison Jonas brought The Farm on Adderley & Pomme de Terre to town. With their blinding success, it made sense that they'd create a nearby nook for a nightcap. But Sycamore, named for Brooklyn's most ubiquitous street tree, is no ordinary bar. Its appealing storefront, a flower shop by day, opens into a cozy wood-paneled bar by dusk. Sycamore hosts live music acts as well as frequent beer and spirit tastings. Well-priced microbrews and small batch bourbons border on the esoteric, while stiffly poured cocktails aren't for babes in wood. Scoot to the ivy-covered back of the bar and peep the spacious patio garden, complete with ample bench-seating and a cast-iron fireplace to warm you on nippier nights. Sycamore offers many ways to have a good time; we're glad this tree grows in Brooklyn.
