Tailor: Take one look at Tailor’s menu, executed by Sam Mason (former pastry chef of wd-50 and host of rock ’n’ roll cooking show Dinner with the Band), and you’ll think it's a by-product of a night of boozing and bong rips: foie gras with chocolate and peanut butter, pork belly and miso butterscotch! The results, however, are as deliciously enticing as Mason himself (and his male and female staff). These insanely innovative concoctions should be enough to quiet the naysayer’s incessant squawking. If not, a cocktail in the downstairs bar should do the trick: the Bazooka (vodka, bubble gum cordial, and house sour) is strong enough for man but tailored for a woman, and the Paprika Punch (rum, bell pepper, lemonade, and molasses) has just enough bite. We'll stay and let Mason rock our world. |
