Teneleven: Teneleven—located on the gravesite of the late, lamented Mickey’s Blue Room—carries nobly on in its predecessor's role, as a watering-hole-come-bohemian-fantasy-land, catering to artists, photographers, musicians and other local stereotypes. The blue painted-brick is a nice (if leftover) twist on the usual red variety, but don’t be fooled by even these half-assed artsy affectations. Because, name change or no, this joint remains cherished by the locals as a great place to get a stiff, cheap drink far away from the riff-raff...or maybe be the riff-raff. And, with drafts and select bottled beers for $3 from 2pm to 9pm, don't be surprised how far that appeal can reach. Let’s just say they, “Serve hard drinks for men who like to get drunk fast, and don’t need any characters around to give the joint atmosphere.” Yep, we're quoting from It's a Wonderful Life...try doing that at Superdive. |
