Tenjune
Despite the parade of spiky-haired frat boys rolling past in rented convertibles, this small, dim club still has one of the toughest doors in the city. Mark Birnbaum of Aer and Eugene Remm, who handled Level V’s party-throwing duties, have cooked up one of the MPD’s most popular—and therefore most unbearable—hot spots, and it still simmers after two years. The room itself is long, sleekly designed, and crowded with tables lining the walls. A miniscule bar area provides a good excuse to splurge on bottle service, which in all likelihood, is your only way in, unless you do as Wall Street does—get dinner at STK upstairs first then arrive via elevator. The crowd skews young, which means celeb DJs playing fast and furious mixes of rock, hip-hop, and whatever else models can dance to at—or atop—their tables. Pick your night carefully, because you might see Kanye kicking back here, or you might be surrounded by cookie-cutter, barely-legal club kids.

HORRIBLE PLACE way over hyped for crap

My cousin reserved a table for her 21st birthday, we took a limo to the city and then even tho we had a table reserved they still made us wait in line, the bouncers were complete assholes, and wouldnt even give us the time of day to TELL them we were on the list and had a table reserved. finally some asshole in a suit came out and "hushed" us several times b4 he listened to us when we said we were on the list and had a table. Finally we get in, get a waitress tells us the amount we have to order. Everything is going fine. The crowd sucked, every one was from Holland, or some other northern European country, and NO one was dressed up. "Dresses or skirts a must"... everyone was wearing jeans. The place was soo small and had crappy decor. Then at the end of the night there was a problem with the bill and when the waitress asked me to go in the back room with her to figure it out, as i went after her the bouncer would not let me go in the back and proceeded to poke me (a skinny 22 year old) with his fat finger and told me he would "have to hurt me" if i tried to go into the back. Finally the waitress who was wondering where i was came out to get me. After over charging us for two bottles of champagne we said we didnt want, but she brought out anyway, I had to fight with her for another 20 minutes and she wouldnt take the charge off. I would never go back there, even if it was the only club left in the city.IM from long island and find the clubs out here to better than that shithole. OVER hyped. COuld find a far better club in the city if u go down the block. Stay away and have a good time some place else.

I went a few days ago. While the doorman is notoriously testy (it took me two attempts to be let in), I found the staff inside to be quite accomodating and friendly. It is clearly, though, a place to see and be seen. And it really caters to the crowd who's willing to drop hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, on bottle service. I really expected more for all this hype. My friends got a bottle, which made my experience all right. I don't think that would be the case without having access to someone's table. While the decor's very nice, you're stuck with the bathroom for sitting down if you or your friends don't get bottle service. I understand the premise of bottle service, but there's absolutely nowhere to sit if you don't get it. Also, I would expect the music to be of a much higher standard for a place that's so hyped up. The DJ played subpar cliche pop music all night. Maybe I had great expectations, but I expect a bit more for one of the most hyped-up places out there. The staff inside is friendly and goes to great lengths to maintain the place, but it's in dire need of better music!

It was well worth the wait to get in to tenjune. Despite other comments, I thought the crowd was beautiful... yes, there were some suits at tables but you'll find that at any club of this nature. The dj was great and the energy was incredible. I highly recommend it Tenjune if you want a fun night of dancing

This club is horrible. The doormen are rude and disrespectful. The short white guy at the door has napoleon complex and thinks he's important. When you go to a club you are a customer and you should be respected. This important guy at the door has diarrhea of the mouth.

It's true that this club is not Marquee, but that's why we like it. The crowd is far more interesting than the dancing queens elsewhere. The space is intimate and darkly glam, meaning lots of people making out, but the drinks, served in giant lowball glasses, will help you feel the love. And the questionable soundtrack.

Waiting outside for nearly an hour just to get inside and find out the place is completely empty is not how anyone should spend a saturday night. Go somewhere else!

This place held the nightclub heavyweight title for about 2 months, but now it is already a has-been! With hopes this would be the next marquee, cain or pangaea (clubs that stayed hot for a few years), it no longer needs a doorman, it needs a toll taker for all the B&T!

I heard mixed reviews about this place but decided to give it a chance with a group of friends. You walk down into a dungeon like atomosphere that is crowded with very lame people. It's very dark and the drinks are over priced for what the place is. I read about the place before hand and they must have a good PR company spreading BS about the scene. There are at least 20 spots within a quarter mile radius of Tenjune that are a much better time and crowd. Like most NYC clubs, this place will not survive unless they change some things around quick.
