The Bailey Pub & Brasserie:
The Bailey may sound like a quaint little pub on an English moor, but don't be fooled—the only trip you'll be taking will lead into the financial underbelly of the U.S.of A. Yes, it's another Wall Street after-work joint, and consequently, the bar at The Bailey is bustling with skirts and suits the second the market closes. Wall Streeters unwind with the $12 oh-so-comforting No Liability—prosecco on the rocks with a splash of aperol—or the more whimsical Patron-based Midsummer's Night Dream (a dream we imagine begins with not working at Goldman). Draft beers are plentiful and primarily come from Belgium and Germany, surprising considering the food menu is absolutely English; bangers and mash, fish and chips, and Prince Edward Island Mussels make that clear. The food isn't bad for such generally unremarkable cultural fare, but like everything at The Bailey, its prices are rather inflated. But hey, isn't that what Wall Street's all about?
I work down town in a nearby building and this place is my new hang out. It Rocks. The food is not over inflated as the writer says compared to all the other restaurants that will kill your wallet. There is a gastro feel to the place which I love but how does Prince Edward Island Mussels make it clear that it is English. PEI is in Canada and Bangers and Mash comes from the Irish Famine….Also there are more American beers on tap than German or Belgium. The writer should do more homework.
