The Barrel Room @ City Winery:
Once again, City Winery has marked itself as a beacon for winos in SoHo and beyond...this time, with a more intimate wine-lover’s haven nestled inside of their larger space. Enjoy one of the eleven barrel-made wines on tap ($10-$14) or, for something harder, try a cocktail from their full bar. If you don’t know whether you’ll enjoy their Stainless Steel Chardonnay 2010, fear not—the bartenders are more than willing to give their opinions (and a free sample) of their delicious wines, so you'll never end up awkwardly sending back a glass you don't love. Sit at one of the long barrel tables in this cozy wooded room, and munch on a panini flight ($13) with your drinks, or opt for something more substantial like their mini rack of lamb ($24). However you choose to booze at The Barrel Room, there’s no doubt that even non-winos will enjoy their selections and the low-key scene.
