The Blind Barber
When you get a good haircut, you usually want to go out and show it off. When you get a bad one, the next logical step is to drown your sorrows at your local bar. No matter which way the scissors snip, the newly-opened Blind Barber makes the cut. Their charming lounge and tasty cocktails housed within a traditional barber shop make it the perfect place for celebration...or commiseration. The bar itself looks like your grandparents' starter home, if your grandparents were an extremely stylish couple who threw wild cocktail parties every night. Copper light fixtures, velvet sofas and gilded frames for all those old-timey family photographs transport you back to the 1920s. So do the strapping young gentleman (sporting the requisite suspenders and facial hair), who serve up concoctions so addictive that you risk becoming the blind one (try the Hot Heather, topped with a flaming orange peel, $12).Take a few back to the cozy sitting room and order up a pizza from next-door neighbor Gnocco, or climb atop a sleek booth in front and dance the night away to the DJ-spun tunes. We’re just happy the barber shop portion closes at 9pm…just before those happy hour drinks kick in and start giving us ideas (mowhawks, anyone?).

was really good the first time, okay the second, and the third was the just the same scene. dj played the same mix all three times (song for song). decor is great, drinks are good, crowd is a little too young, but it seems as though the owners (co-owners or whatever) might even be about the same age.

Oooh! I have to check this place out! The union of two of my favorite things: vanity and booze!
