The Collective: From the outside, it may still look like its former iteration. Inside though, The Collecitve now sports a tchotchke-filled interior more like Serendipity 3 on acid than the sleek and streamlined décor found at One. Designed by ICRAVE (STK, SL, Abe & Arthur’s), the restaurant/bar/lounge has been luring in a packed house since its opening, thanks to an inventive space brimming with new, old, and found furniture items (after a few drinks this Collective can become even more disorienting than Animal Collective). If you can gather your wits amidst the zany assortment of mismatched chairs, old street signs, slot machines, colorful lights and bold art, order up some comfort food classics (hello, $10 disco fries). Or, you can keep the buzz going at the bustling bar, filled with double kissers and on-the-prowl singles. In fact, think of this place as a high-brow junkyard, fit for fabulous packrats...T.G.I.Meatpacking! |
