The Draft Bar: Calling all frat boys! The Draft Bar is open for business. In a neighborhood where some drinking establishments take themselves too seriously, it’s uplifting to see a spot crank the music to incredible decibel levels, roll out the beer pong table, and name their cocktails after fiery women and their legs—e.g. “Bearcat” (a Bloody Mary style combination of Pilsner, tomato juice, celery salt, Worcestershire, Tabasco and pepper, $9) and “Gams” (raspberry vodka, Cointreau, lime and cranberry, $7). Though the bar is fratty in nature, girls are equally encouraged to eat the pub grub, watch the flat-screens and partake in “Thirsty Thursday,” when $15 buys all-you-can-drink Rolling Rock from 10pm till midnight. The pink and gold wallpaper might ultimately appeal to a feminine sensibility, but who’s really paying attention to decor when the game is on, you’re on task to annihilate a bucket of 50 wings, and your favorite Rihanna song just started? Head up the block for a scene, but head to The Draft Bar to let loose.
