The Drink:
Hipster kids are diving into The Drink’s cozy den of, uh, drinks, tipping back teacups of “warm punch” (spiked with your choice of bourbon or rum) and cocktails concocted by mixology master Frank Cisneros (formerly of Prime Meats, among others). Those not into warm booze will find their own solace in one of five rotating drafts ($4 for 12oz)—two of The Drinks’ partners come straight from beer snob heaven Spuyten Duyvil, and the tap choices reflect their breeding. The room's warm lighting, jazzy sounds and woodsy feel (much of the bar's materials come straight from a Maine boatyard) make for a perfect cold-weather refuge, while the expansive back patio is sure to encourage activities of the more raucous variety come summertime. While the current edible option is restricted to Brooklyn-canned pickles—everyone know pickles are so hot right now—the patio will eventually be the site of fish fries and BBQs. Like a warm New England cabin, The Drink is nothing splashy, but you still feel lucky to be there.
