The Lighthouse: Somewhere amongst the speeding freeway traffic and the noisy, gritty sidewalks of Southeast Williamsburg, a soft, emanating glow guides stragglers in from the cold. Give in to the gentle beckoning and you will find yourself inside a welcoming and surprisingly aromatic haven in which to drop anchor for the evening. Never you mind that there are no ships for miles—the Lighthouse will fill up plates with oysters ($3), ceviche ($13) and fresh fish, served to hungry wanderers around rustic communal tables. Share brews and adventure tales with fellow travelers, or cozy up to the bar with your mate and sip on powerful elixirs like the De Peche Mode (rum, peach limbic, St. Germain, fresh ginger and prosecco, $11) or the Good & Plenty (tequila, absinthe, fresh lime and agave, $11). Stomach churn at the thought of the sea? Sustenance by land can be had for a price—lamb chops ($26) or BBQ pork spare ribs ($24) should have you primed to set out on your next voyage.
