The Lovin' Cup: The Stones would be rolling their eyes at the recent make-under of The Lovin' Cup's (formerly Anytime) menu. Gone from the beloved cup is the explosion of bananas and Nutella wedged between slices of grilled sourdough. Ditto for the house-infused liquors, a tragedy which resonates most prominently in the Lemon Song (Absolut, honey, basil and lemon, $9) where the loss of savory, fig-infused vodka is palpably mourned. Happily, the perfectly relaxed rocker ambience remains the same—dim lights, endearing furnishings, a projector playing old B&Ws—and proves a spot where both hipsters and hippies can mingle. If you think you hear loud, discordant music seeping out from the back, you're not fall-down drunk and mistaken. A tiny door past the bathrooms leads to a music venue, accounting for all the punk-rocker types trickling in around 10pm, tea-bagging the Cup's otherwise wonderfully low-key atmosphere.
