The Mark Restaurant @ the Mark Hotel:
Mark Bar at the Mark Hotel is back in action with UES-style and grace, thanks in part to designs by the French interior connoisseur Jacques Grange. In correlation with the newly renovated restaurant (imaginatively named The Mark), the bar surpasses our expectations by coalescing the hotel’s 1927 architecture with Grange’s clean lines and fun patterns. The party centers around an amoeba-shaped mirrored bar, lined with caramel-colored leather bar stools, and continues to spread under the pinewood ceiling tile lit by metal chandeliers. This décor turns the potentially-stuffy location into a chic place to meet your uptown friends without wearing out your Christian Louboutins. On the downside, you can expect uptown "mark"-ups, including Manhattans and other classic clocktails checking in around $18-20. But hey, how much would you pay to party at the hotel that actually sent Johnny Depp to jail for trashing his room in the '90s? Exactly.
