You've already dealt with a bunch of LES "meatballs" all night...now why not indulge your drunk munchies with some actual orbs of beef? Open till 4 am to cater to people in your position, the Meatball Shop serves primarily as a casual restaurant, mobbed with trustafarians taking all the bar stools or waiting it out for a seat at the communal tables. But unlike the crowd, the décor is strictly antiquated, with a white tin ceiling, wooden floors and tables and photos of somebody’s grandparents bedecking the walls. Who knows: Maybe one of them is originator of the mind-blowing selections of meatball and sauce combinations. At 3:30 am, the menu can get confounding, so skip confusion by heading straight for the spicy pork meatballs with Parmesan sauce—in a bowl, on a slider or engulfed in a hero ($7-$9). If you're still not drunk enough to deal with your fellow meatheads, get sauced with a carafe of wine ($13-$25) or a Brooklyn Lager in a quart-size milk bottle ($9).
