The Pearl Room:
Unless they want to slam beers (which, lets face it, probably got old seventeen dips in the Dow ago), Wall Street types don’t have a lot of places to go in the FiDi post market. Enter The Pearl Room, located in SHO Shaun Hergatt, a posh option for brokers who want to drown their losses after the closing bell. The “Lower East Side” ($15) nets a good return on your drink investment—the potent Overholt Rye at the base of the cocktail will get you tipsy in no time. If your portfolio is really hurtin', skip the mixers and go straight for the heavy stuff: the spirits list features a 25 year old rye and a cognac from 1914. The room is sufficiently swank for those drinking on an expense account, the spot taking its name from the mother-of-pearl tables that line the dimly-lit room. For those off Wall Street, head here if you like to flirt with suits, or if you just want to eavesdrop for good stock tips.
