It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's a sports bar/music venue/rooftop beer garden! The Rock Shop opened because the owners felt Park Slope was missing something—or three things, apparently. Music venue downstairs, multi-room sports bar upstairs and rooftop patio out back, The Rock Shop has left no stone unturned. Alas, with the bazillion flat-screens sitting beside clusters of pretty plants, the space's attempt to be something for everyone results in a lack of cohesive identity. But since this ‘hood is increasingly becoming the destination for young people unsure of who they are trying to be, here’s the perfect joint to put off figuring that out just yet. The music line-up is impressive even in its early stages, and you can check the Mets scores as often as the guitar changes. Your team losing? Step out onto the warm back patio and fuggedaboutit. Even if you hate music, sports and fresh air, you don't hate cheap drinks: $3 cans and wells till 8pm is reason enough to rock.
