Another chic hotel, another chic bar/restaurant, ho hum, right? Perhaps not at the Parlour Lounge within The Roger Hotel. A sleek but warm and well-lit bar and bistro, the brunch through late night menu offers a nice take on modern American cuisine. “Relaxed” highlights include the “soda dipped” fried chicken with Sriracha and yogurt dipping sauces ($13), the oyster po’ boy ($15) and even a large plate of wild king salmon ($22). The mixologist-approved cocktail menu offers well-made offerings to pair with the aforementioned, with such tipples as the rum and mango puree-based Voo-Doo ($12). Or perhaps just a dessert, topped off by the warm molten chocolate cake ($10). Next time you think it’s perhaps time to leave your hotel to find a restaurant, remember...maybe it’s not.
