The Rooftop at Aretsky's Patroon: We all know what happens on Wall Street…also happens in Midtown East, so it’s not surprising that Patroon’s renovated roof deck feeds on the wallets of young corporate types. Nor is it shocking that the cocktails, while “Decadent” (aged rum, fresh pineapple, champagne and bitters), reach the $17.00 mark—sigh, even in a bull market, we’d rather hibernate than sip on a mediocre cocktail endangering our pensions. The deck has been expanded to nearly double its former size, featuring three large TVs, a cigar menu and an extraordinary zinc bar (partially covered for rainy days), everything it needs to become a corporate paradise. Sure the rest of us probably won’t be swinging by anytime soon, but they don’t seem to mind—like its clients, Patroon’s roof deck is only open for business Monday-Friday. |
