The Stag's Head:
The Stag’s Head is a warm neighborhood pub that allows you to drink from sea to shining sea thanks to their extensive list of domestic brews. Start in New York with a hearty Blue Point Rastafar Rye ($7) and wind up in California with a pint of San Diego’s refreshing Ballast Point Calico Amber ($6). If you’re not a beer person, try a cocktail…a beer one. Drinks like The Blueberry Blind (Hennessy, lemon, sugar, Blue Point Blueberry, $11) will wow even those who are anti-suds. The space is decked out with wood paneling where the eponymous taxidermy keeps an eye out from his perch on the back wall (don’t drink too much, he’s watching). There's also an upstairs dining area and an outdoor "beer garden" (a.k.a. patio with benches), where you can order off their menu of standard pub grub. The bar’s usually filled with a mix of beer-geeks and locals looking to try something other than Bud. If you bone up on your beer knowledge, this could be a good place to score a date (provided you like beer bellies).
