The Summit Bar:
Any hep cat knows the Rat Pack internally referred to themselves as “The Summit.” And now, any hep cat can look to The Summit to escape the rampant speak-cheesies of the East Village for someplace truly swingin'. And that's because Hamid Rashidzada (of the Mercer Hotel) and Greg Seider (alchemist at Minetta Tavern) have reached the peak of their powers with this cocktail and food haven fit for everyone from 20-somethings to chill grandfathers. The specialty cocktails feature homegrown ingredients (literally)—such as the shiso leaves and rhubarb in the delicious Charmane's Star ($12)—as well as two-by-two inch ice cubes, intended to thaw slowly so that they don’t dilute the flavor. The ever-expanding menu of small plates come from Murray’s Cheese (West Village) and all check in at five dollars. The amalgamation of spirits, eats and unobtrusive beats would even have Sinatra proud to be sitting at the one-ton granite bar, resting his feet and cocking his hat. This place is top of the heap.
Perfect cocktails, great vibe, upscale but totally unpretentious. Definitely should not be missed. Check out this blog post for a full review of Summit: bit.ly/oNwu3P

incredible
a true gem. I will 100% be back to this bar. The drinks were delicious, the staff were attentive and the decor was incredible. Its small but cozy, perfect place to grab a well priced couture cocktail before dinner, or a yummy nightcap.

The drinks were weak and pale in comparison to places like Little Branch, Pegu club etc, the bar tenders were very unqualified, very slow. Shows that fancy ice cube does not make the drink.... two stars for the decor and front seating area. If you get there early enough 9:30-10 the seating area is good for birthdays/gatherings.
