When you’re so deep in the dog house that even flowers and dinner at Gramercy Tavern won’t do the trick, you’ve got one last-ditch, highly romantic option to look like the most apologetic M-F’er in Manhattan: The Waters Edge. Arrive with the object of your affection to the pier on 23rd St. and the East River to be whisked away on a champagne-drenched ferry ride. The sun will slip below the skyline as you make your way to the resto’s newly-renovated LIC locale, where you'll slink into cozy chairs on the main floor and enjoy a ritzy mini-staycation, complete with the floor-to-ceiling view of shimmering Midtown to remind you and Dorothy that you’re not in the City anymore. Try the five-course tasting menu ($60, featuring melt-in-your-mouth tender filet mignon) or opt for a la carte items like zingy tuna tartare ($16) and grilled lobster ($34). After a bottle of vino, be sure to delight in a French Kiss (brandy, Benedictine and Grand Marnier served warm, $12) with your boo and, if it goes so well that you’re engaged on the spot, don’t sweat it—the private event space upstairs is a no-brainer for the reception.
